Just returned (reluctantly) home after a week`s stay in Barra De Navidad on Mexico`s central Pacific coast. We stayed at Condos Astilleros which were right on the center (of 3) canals and maybe a 3-4 block walk to the beach & town center. We had a wonderful 2-bedroom, 2 bath fully furnished unit with full kitchen & laundry room & soooo reasonable. We barbecued under the Palapa by the pool & watched spectacular sunsets in the evening while fishing right off the dock. You can also flag down a water taxi from the dock & head to dinner somewhere on the beach. The weather this time of year was hot & humid, very similar to Hawaii beings as this coast shares the same latitude, but there was always a cooling breeze maybe due to the closeness of the two bays & we could always jump in the pool!! Prior to this trip, Mexico to me always meant Cabo!, until my daughter & son-in-law who had fallen in love with this place convinced me to check it out. Well I am in Love!!! This is Cabo 20 years ago...a small fishing, farming village approx 60km North of Manzanillo & maybe 20 miles from the airport. Awesome beaches & colorful local markets & shops...Yep, our kinda place! We will definitely return to Condos Astilleros & Barra De Navidad.

It only took one trip to Barra de Navidad and Melaque for me to leave Cabo and purchase here. It`s like Cabo was 25 years ago and magical!!
